Compensation: $54,000-$57,000 annual salary
Benefits: One week (40 hours) PTO plus 15 (120 Hours) organizational holidays
atac: downtown arts + music seeks a full-time, experienced, and enthusiastic Program Manager who will be responsible for organizing and managing various programs and events to foster community and creativity through increased access to the arts. The ideal candidate will have experience with workforce development, booking live performers, community organization and activism, be familiar with economically and culturally diverse communities, and speak English and Spanish and/or Portuguese.
Candidates should be organized, collaborative, and proactive. The position works directly with the Executive Director, helping to support organizational goals related to our primary production season community partnerships and engagement, live events, fundraising, and new program initiatives. This position requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs and the ability to be standing for long periods of time during some events. This highly visible position requires a consistent presence in our community and connection with members, residents, and program participants. atac utilizes the Voices of the Community Engagement Model, which relies on continual stakeholder listening and feedback. Key Responsibilities:
Community Partnerships: Maintain and develop relationships with collaborative partners across MetroWest. Collaborate with local community organizations and activists who are in alignment and with fidelity to our mission. Work with patterns, artists, and state and local legislatures to identify and address community needs and promote arts and culture within the community.
Booking Management: Serve as the main point of contact for booking and rental requests. Book live performers, artists, and speakers for events and programs, ensuring diverse programming that responds to community needs and input. Negotiate and manage performer and rental contracts. Coordinate and communicate with Production and Marketing to maintain our professional quality and communication around events.
Develop and Implement Programs: With the Executive Director, develop new programs that support our mission and strategic goals. Source partnerships and funding opportunities, and help to develop program budgets. Organize and oversee the planning and execution of live events, art exhibitions, workshops, classes, and other programs, ensuring they are well-attended and meet the needs and interests of the community. Monitor program budgets and ensure that expenses are within budgetary constraints.
Supervision: Manage and supervise staff and volunteers who are involved in planning and executing events and programs. Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in arts management, community development, or a related field.
Enthusiasm for atac’s mission to foster community and creativity through increased access to the arts.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, community organizing, and/or arts administration.
Experience in booking live performers and managing events and programs.
Knowledge and experience in workforce development and creative skill-building for community members of all ages and backgrounds are essential.
Experience with community engagement in economically and culturally diverse communities.
Comfort and experience navigating language barriers, gender identities and expressions, cultural differences, and reflecting on one’s intersecting identities and privileges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Fluent in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese
